Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in skin that provides hydration to help maintain its flexibility and elasticity. HA has been a key ingredient in many dermal fillers for more than 20 years because it adds subtle volume.

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin with a fine needle to restore a smoother appearance to dynamic wrinkles and folds, such as smile and laugh lines. Hyaluronic acid adds subtle volume to the skin.

We only use FDA-approved dermal fillers. The most common side effects observed in the clinical trial were temporary and at the injection site: tenderness, swelling, bruising, pain, redness and lumps. In clinical studies, there were no delayed onset nodules reported.

Your injector reviews your goals, medical history and facial anatomy to determine whether a dermal filler is right for you, and which product best fits the treatment area. The consultation is also when your injector will answer your questions and walk you through what to expect during and after treatment.

Minimize exposure to extreme heat or cold for the first 24 hours, as this may cause temporary redness, swelling or itching at the injection site. Follow the full aftercare plan provided by your injector.

Most dermal filler appointments at Lévy Aesthetics take 20–30 minutes, plus time for consultation and topical numbing if desired. You can see the smoothing effect as soon as treatment is complete. Mild swelling or redness is normal and typically resolves within a week. If additional correction is desired, an optional touch-up can be performed at 2 weeks per product labeling.
